Cadenza is a real-time, live orchestral accompaniment app for iPhone and iPad. It uses the power of artificial intelligence to respond in real-time, so that musicians'  rehearsals are more akin to actual orchestra performances. Cadenza listens, matches your tempo, and plays the orchestra part. It also shows sheet music and learns your playing tendencies over time.

For this project I was in charge of the entire UI/UX, and worked closely with founders Paul Henry Smith and Ann Chao. I employed various visual strategies to avoid being text-heavy; for instance, rather than the user choosing their instrument from a text-based list, they spin the instrument wheel to select their instrument. Other features include selecting a portion of a piece of music to play, sheet music visuals only while playing, and a set of rotating drop-down wheels for tool and settings panels.
